Another award! This time from my home country The Netherlands. At the Eindhovens Film Festival 2014 I won the Golden Camera Award for my music for Wij Jagen (We Hunt). A beautiful documentary made by Ted Alkemade and Vera Holland.
We won the Bronze award at the Kinsale Shark Awards for Best Use of Sound Design and Music for the Imperial War Museum film! This beautiful ad was made by Aardman Animations.http://kinsalesharks.com/winners-2014/entry/824/in/352/421
I'm really stoked that my track Splitscreen - A Love Story has been used on the trailer for Men, Women & Children by Jason Reitman (Juno, Up In The Air). Starring Emma Thompson, Jennifer Garner and Ansel Elgort.
Click on the poster below to watch the trailer. Still buzzing here from excitement.. :)
For the London agency Academy Films I've scored two commercials for Aberdeen Asset Management. It needed a very subtle piano based score. Below you can watch the one minute version of 'Greenkeeper'.
Directed by Conkerco.
I've had the privilege to write the music for an ad for the Imperial War Museum created by the prestigious animation studio Aardman. Best known for Wallace & Gromit and Chicken Run.
This beautiful hand drawn animation needed a sensitive but epic British track. It's now online and will be broadcast on the BBC in the coming days and in UK cinemas.

My apologies for not updating my website in the past few months. I've been very busy lately with various things.
The most important reason was the birth of my son Oliver. Proud as ever of course :)
This new poetic adventure is an homage to the words of H.G. Wells. For PBS Digital Studios James W. Griffiths went on a journey to shoot this short film. For the full experience watch it in HD and you can hear my soundtrack on my playlist or on iTunes. Hope you all enjoy it!
Incredible, our little film Room 8 has won the BAFTA for Best British Short Film! I'm extremely proud to have worked on this film. After already working on some great projects with James, we could never imagine this was going to happen. Click here to watch the 'moment of truth' and James' acceptance speech.
In the beginning of this year Weight Watchers UK launched it's new campagne - Simple Start. For the London based production company Saatchi & Saatchi I composed the music for these adverts aimed for TV, radio and cinema.
Exciting news! Room 8 is nominated for a BAFTA in the category Short Film! Sunday the 16th of February we'll know the outcome but a nomination is already amazing.
Massive congratulations to director James W. Griffiths and 'Independent' producer Sophie Venner!
Over the past 7 years I've had the privilege to work with the amazingly talented people of the animation studio PlusOne Amsterdam. These guys make cutting edge animation work, definitely check them out. Below are some of our latest collaborations.
This is my 2nd price winning entry for the Transatlantyk Film Music competition. Since it's a music competition - the film came without any sound. So everything you hear is my score. I hope you enjoy it!
I'm very pleased to say that I've won the 2nd price at the Transatlantyk Film Music competition!
The jury consisted of top Hollywood composers Marco Beltrami (World War Z, Wolverine, The Hurt Locker), Jan Kaczmarek (Finding Neverland) and others. After watching the entries of the 12 finalists the waiting began. At the gala, that was live broadcasted at the Polish TV, the results were announced.
Here you can see my reaction :)
I'm nominated for this years Transatlantyk Film Music competition! Composers from all around the world had the chance to write a score for two short films. You can find the complete shortlist on the website:
The announcement of the winners will be on the 8th of August in Poznan, Poland. Fingers crossed.. :)
I just finished the score for this great short film. It's a dark comedy (32min) directed by Danny Ormerod starring Elliot James Langridge and Chris Overton.
James Griffiths was one of the five winners of the Bombay Sapphire competition. With this opportunity he made this interesting short film set in a 1970's prison cel. I had the pleasure to work on the subtle score. You can listen to it here.
